Lady of soul Trijntje Oosterhuis, who represented The Netherlands at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, was a guest yesterday evening in the popular Dutch talkshow Jinek. The artist looked back at her performance in Vienna, presented her new single The choice I’ve made, and announced a forthcoming Dutch clubtour.
Trijntje Oosterhuis was welcomed by host Eva Jinek in her TV-show Jinek on NPO 1 (KRO-NCRV). The Dutch diva talked about her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, in which she stranded in the first semi-final. With her genuine enthusiasm and optimism, Trijntje Oosterhuis analysed her performance. Although there was a lot of criticism on her choice of dress and the general staging of her Eurovision-entry Walk along, the singer does not want to point fingers in blame or linger on what could have been done better. In fact, although she understands the criticism, Trijntje Oosterhuis is incredibly proud that she had the chance to represent her country and perform in front of so many viewers:
I gave my all (…) I have no regrets about participating. I felt fine, and of course it was a disappointment. But I approached it in a very honest and realistic way. I feel confident enough as a singer to do something this scary (…) Personally, I did not feel it as a defeat , I had so much fun. And I conquered something for myself: even though I’ve been a singer for many years, I’m still nervous before a show, and I am so proud that I achieved a victory for myself. I gave all of myself in my profession as a vocalist (..) I can’t predict how things are going to look in the end, I had to surrender to the circumstances. Every artist that participates in Eurovision takes a risk, and everyone is entitled to an opinion. But I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Trijntje Oosterhuis also presented her new single in a live version. The choice I’ve made was (co-)written by Trijntje’s good friend and musical soulmate Anouk (Eurovision 2013), just as her Eurovision-entry Walk along, and can be found on the new album Walk along.
The Dutch artist also announced a forthcoming clubtour in The Netherlands, the Walk Along Tour, in which she will sing her greatest hits and songs form her new album in an intimate setting.
