The former Greek broadcaster ERT is back in action in Greece as of today, exactly 2 years after it was shut down.

In 2013 ERT was shut down on 11 June by the former Greek government and was replaced by the interim channel DT.  Hereafer DT was replaced by NERIT last year.

Greece competed at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with the interim channel DT and at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with NERIT.

The current Greek government has brought back ERT (Elliniki Radiophonia-Tileorassi SA) with a total of 4 channels on air : ERT 1, ERT 2, ERT HD (already operating) and ERT 3.

ERT is a fully active member of the EBU and thus is eligible to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Greece debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 and has won the event once in 2005 with Helena Paparizou. ERT successfully hosted the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens.
