Tonight: national final in Hungary

Tonight, Hungary will choose its song and repreentative(s) for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belagrade. 15 songs will present one song each and the winner will be chosen by a mixture of jury and televoting.

The show

Magdi Rusza's successorat the Eurovision Song Contest will be decided by a mixture of jury vote and televote during the Hungarian national final tonight which will start at 20:10 CET. The 100 minute show will be hosted by Éva Novodomszky, last year's Hungarian commentator, and Levente Harsányi, host of a popular m1 TV music program. Former Hungarian Eurostars will be present to perform and participate in the studio discussions and the viewers will also be treated to Eurovision archive material.

In 2007, Magdi Rúzsa represented Hungary and she finished second in the semi final and ninth in the final. The Hungarian entry Unsubstantial blues won the 2007 esctoday.com awards in three categories: Composer of the year, Best female performance and Best video. Furthermore, it was the runner-up inthe Song of the year and Performance of the year categories.In 2008, Hungary will take part in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 22nd May.
