Lene Alexandra has certainly made waves in this year's Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix where she was tipped as a hot favourite but only managed to make it to the Second Chance round to be held on 6th February. In the meantime the voluptuous singer has released her first album and now sees her MGP entry entering the Norwegian singles charts at # 17.

Lene Alexandra competed in the third and last semi final of Norway's Melodi Grand Prix, the national selection for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, with Sillycone Valley. Although hotly tipped as one of the favourites, her poor performance on the night did not help her qualify to the final but she is given another chance as she will compete in the Second Chance round. Sillycone valley, entered the Norwegian charts last week at number 17 and Lene has also released her first album, Welcome to Sillycone valley.

"I released my first single My boobs are okay in March last year and I never would have expected that I would be able to release a whole album. I don't think too many other people thought so either!Lol.. I can`t believe it! This is SO cool!" says Lene. "I have been working on this album since April last year and I have cowritten 5 of the songs. Really cool that I have reached another one of my goals. Me and my designer had a lot of fun as usual when we decided the "albumlook";) The album is filled with all the rainbow colours." she declares happily. "The album is typical "Lene Alexandra" but there is also some surprises when it comes to music style, I think there is a song for everyone." she concludes.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
