Tonight, Slovenia will kick off EMA 2008, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the first semi final being held.
The show
Lorella Flego & Peter Poles will be the hosts of the first semi final, which will start at 19:55 CET. Ten songs will be presented and the top 5, chosen by televtoting, are to go forward to the national final this Sunday.

Slovenia has reached the final of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in Helsinki since the semi final has been introduced. Alenka Gotar fiinished 15th with Cvet z juga. The country has been waiting to finish in the top 10 again in the final since 2001.
