The international Eurovision fan community will have the opportunity to chat live with the winner of the first Azerbaijani national final in a pan European first online chat organised by eurovision.az. Three former Eurovision Song Contest winners will also be present at the press conference and available for questions as well. The final will be webcast through eurovision.tv and broadcast through various broadcasters in Georgia, Turkey and Lithuania.

On 2nd February, the first ever Azerbaijani national final for the Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Baku. The debuting broadcaster is set to stun Europe with a state-of-the-art show production. "We'll make the show in Azerbaijan at the highest international level of performance. In this concert we've been engaged to make an outstanding design with hundreds of lights, extensive use of the LED screens that are built into the stage design. The set-up is really big; moreover it's extremely huge as for the local contest."says Ola Melzig, the production manager of the Azerbaijani National Final.

40 tons of equipment were delivered to Baku from Kiev including LED screens, 120 static and 140 dynamic light projectors, etc, and the Azerbaijani broadcaster is preparing a show to remember locally as well as internationally.

The stage
"The key feature of this event is the stage. It's to be decorated with 3 LED screens 24 square meters each. This allows changing the appearance of the stage almost immediately. The arena itself is spectacular, and it is round-shaped. This is the rarest kind of sound arenas in the whole world, and at the same time it's the most challenging one since it requires a more difficult sound mastering, which has to be outstanding." says Estonian Tarmo Krim, another Eurovision veteran and multicamera director at the concert in Baku.

Broadcast
The Azerbaijani National Final will be broadcast live on eurovision.tv as well as on Georgian GEGT, Turkey's TRT Turk and TRT International as well as Lithuanian LRT.

Winner's press conference- Live chat
After the show (from 19.45 to 20.30 CET), the traditional winner's press conference will follow. It will be also exclusively broadcast by eurovision.tv. All international fans will be able to participate in the live chat that will be held during the press conference through eurovision.az. Ruslana, Sertab Erener and Marija Serifovic as well as the head of the Azerbaijani jury will also be present and available for questions.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
