The Conchita -Madame Tussauds story
Yes its true the Queen of Austria aka Conchita Wurst is coming to Madame Tussauds‘ Wax Museum in Vienna! Eurovision fans will be able to admire Conchi’s wax figure when they land in the majestic Austrian capital.
It all started back in November when Conchita Wurst met up with Madame Tussaud‘s team at Mariott Hotel Vienna. The team got a chance to photograph Conchita and take all the required measurements, checkout her hair and eyes, note down all the required details in order to depict her in wax. It has been a long process including lots of hard work to create Conchita’s wax figure.
Conchita’s statue will be placed next to Udo Jurgen‘s wax figure at the Eurovision corner of Vienna’s Madame Tussaud’s Museum. The museum houses a total of 77 wax figures featuring celebrities, artists, actors, sportsmen etc. The museum sent a request to Conchita last October after a high demand by its visitors wishing to see the Eurovision winner depicted in a wax figure. She ranked as #1 in the visitors survey for months.
The Queen of Austria was honoured and pleased with the request and accepted the museum’s invitation.
Conchita Wurst represented Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with her entry Rise like a Phoenix and brought back the Eurovision trophy to Austria after nearly 50 years. Thanks to her Vienna will play host to the upcoming 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held at the Wiener Stadthalle on 19, 21 and 23 May in Vienna.
