Tonight, Montenegro have selected their second representative in the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent state. Stefan Filipović succeeds Stevan Faddy as decided by the Montenegrin public. The song Stefan will perform in Belgrade will be chosen next and will be made known by 15th March.

In a televised show held in the Shass disco in Podgorica, six Montenegrin artists competed for the chance to represent their country in the next Eurovision Song Contest. They all performed two songs each, one before the televoting started and one after it finished and the big winner of the evening by the vast majority of televotes was Stefan Filipović.

Stefan is twenty one years old. He has participated in many local festivals, winning the popular Budva Festival last year with Nebo i more (Sky and sea). Last year also he was the runner up of the first edition of MontenegroSong with Ne mogu bez tebe and also participated in Evropresma in 2006 where he placed 4th with Za nju.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
