Tonight, Malta will choose its 21st representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. The eight songs chosen in the semi final on Thursday will be presented and the winner will be chosen by televoting (80%) and a jury (20%).

The show

The shows starts at 20:45 CET at the Malta Fairs & Convention Centre in Ta' Qali. The hosts will be John Demanuele, Ruth Casingenaand Chiara, Malta's representative in the 1998 and 2005 Eurovision Song Contest.

Malta finished 2nd in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 but was not very succesful the last two years: Fabrizio Faniello finished last in the final in Athens with I do while Olivia Lewis finished 25th in the semi final in Helsinki, thus not reaching the final with Vertigo. In 2008, the Maltese representative will enter one of the semi finals.
