Less then a month before this year�s Serbian national final Beovizija, Goca Trzan decided not to participate after all. However, the song U zivot kockam se (Gambling with my life) will be performed by the authors of the song themselves, Zika and Jelena � members of the popular band Zana.

Goca Trzan explained the reasons for dropping out of this year’s Beovizija to the local newspapers Press. She stated that there weren’t any disagreements with her and the authors of the song, she just didn’t feel it was the right time for her to participate. “I simply don’t want to participate. It didn’t feel right for me to sing the song and I gave up. I am not in the mood for festivals at the moment and that’s it. I have always given 100% of myself when participating at any festival, but now it just isn’t possible”

Nevertheless, the audience will have a chance to hear the song U zivot kockam se at this year’s Beovizija. It will be perfomed by Zana, one of the most famous pop bands from ex Yugoslavia. The band was formed in 1980 and has changed three front singers since. The current lead singer and lyrics writer Jelena Galonic has been in the band since 1990. The composer and the founder of the band is Zoran Zivanovic Zika.

During their career the band Zana has released 13 albums and sold over 3.000.000 copies. Many of their songs are considered classics of Yugoslav pop scene and have often been performed by younger artists.
