Mélanie René won the 2015 Swiss Eurovision national final last January and was awarded the golden ticket to represent Switzerland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. She will defend the Swiss colours in the competition with her entry Time to shine. Switzerland will compete in the Second Semifinal of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest on 21 May.

Switzerland is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest, having hosted and organized the very first contest in 1956. Switzerland has won the competition twice in 1956 on home soil in Lugano with Lys Assia and in 1988 with Celine Dion.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna.
