Ynet.co.il and IBA's Reshet Gimmel radio station revealed today a hidden song the late Ofra Haza recorded in 1991. This song was originally performed at the Kdam-Eurovision of 1989 and was later meant to be recorded as a duet with Haza and Sir Cliff Richard.
In the 1989 Israeli national final, Kdam-Eurovision, Osnat Zano performed the song 'Hagvul hu hashamayim' (The sky is the limit), written by two former Eurovision Song Contest winners: composer Kobi Oshrat (1979) and the lyricist Ehud Manor (1978). The song did not do so well in the national final.
In 1991 Ofra Haza's (Israel 1983) manager approached Oshrat, asking him for a possible song for Haza to record as a duet with no less than Sir Cliff Richard. Kobi Oshrat suggested this song and Manor wrote a new English version for it. Ofra Haza and Kobi Oshrat recorded a demo version of the new song, but the cooperation with Sir Cliff Richard was not carried out eventually.
