This year’s Italian representatives Il Volo have presented the music video to their latest single, Canzone per te.

The Italian trio unveiled the music video to their latest single, Canzone per te, yesterday via their social media accounts. This is Il Volo’s first release following their Sanremo victory back in February with their entry, Grande amore.

Canzone per te, which translates into A song for you, was originally written by the Italian composer Sergio Endrigo who, alongside the Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos, both performed the song at the 1968 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival and went on to win the event.

The same year, Sergio was chosen to represent Italy at the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with his entry Marianne. Sergio ended in 10th place with a total of 7 points.

Canzone per te, along with their previous single Grande amore, will appear on Il Volo’s special upcoming release, Sanremo grande amore – New edition, which will feature both a CD along with a DVD which will include backstage clips and interviews. Sanremo grande amore – New edition will be released next month on the 12 May.

Il Volo will represent Italy at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with their entry Grande amore. Due to Italy being a member of the ‘Big 5’, Il Volo will automatically qualify to the Grand Final where they will compete against 26 other countries for the Eurovision victory.

Following their participation at the contest, the trio will go on to embark on a tour. Dates have been confirmed from the 12 June to the 21 September. More information can be found at ilvolomusic.com/tour.
