Switzerland is one of the two countries that have unveiled their entry for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest tonight. Paolo Meneguzzi has performed it tonight in the Swiss Music Awards ceremony. Era stupendo, a very Italian tune not only for the language, will have to be shortened to 3 minutes.

Era stupendo is a ballad that starts softly but speeds up just in the beginning of its second half. Accompanied fundamentally by piano, the Swiss entry in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest has been presented to the public this evening in the Swiss Music Awards show.

Excitement about the song has risen sharply since the very moment that Paolo Meneguzzi was confirmed as the Switzerland's representative in Eurovision 2008. But tonight's Era stupendo will not be the Era stupendo to be performed in May in Belgrade, as the song, that currently has a length of 3'30", has to be shortened to 3' maximum to see EBU's regulations.
