Last week during a press conference by the French television channel, Director of Entertainment for France 2 stated that they are happy with their selection for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Since the song was unveiled to the public the artist, Lisa Angell, has faced a lot of criticism. Nathalie André, who is the Director of Entertainment for France 2, stated thatIt was not Taylor Swift that I was looking for but the song is amazing. She did agree that the song is not in the style of 2015. For her, the French singer has a strong voice and has a beautiful song. I am very proud of my artist she continued.

She reminded the journalists that the song was written by Robert Goldman, the brother of Jean-Jacques , who has penned Simon papa tara for Yannick Noah and Aller plus haut for Tina Arena. Ms André also explained that the song not only described the horror of war, broadcasts a hope and peaceful message, but has even more relevance since the attack of Charlie Hebdo in January.

She referred to the lyric of the song They were laughing our tears, they wanted to destroy my beliefs in their arms, with words of hatred that can not know?

The French personailties, Stéphane Bern and Marianne James, also came to the defense of the entry. We are fortunate to have an amazing singer, who gives us a special feeling. Look at where modernity took us in Eurovision in recent years. The comment was probably pointing at the modern song Moustache from the group Twin Twin, which came last last year.

Marianne James said It’s still nice to be in a singing contest and send a singer. I had wanted France to finally send great voice.

I attended my first Eurovision Song Contest in 1995, and from 1996 presented daily live reports for radio stations from the event. Since then I have been providing material from everywhere the contest has been held. I also enjoy compiling most of the video materials for three UK ESC events each year. In 2010 I first provided material for esctoday.com.
