Turkish representatives in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, alternative rock band Mor ve Ötesi, have entered the studio this week to record the three songs they will present to TRT.

A special jury comprising TRT officials as well as Turkish music professionals will receive the three proposed songs by Mor ve Ötesi later this month. One of the songs currently being recorded will represent Turkey in one of the semi finals scheduled for May 20 and 22, in Belgrade.

Public opinion seems to be still split in Turkey with regards to the language the song should be in. The final decision lies with the band who have not ruled out the possibility of trying out with a song entirely in Turkish.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
