Belarus auditions have started – watch video

The auditions to whittle down the songs from around 80 submissions have started in Belarus. After performing live with a backing track, the panel of judges appointed by the Belarusian broadcaster will send a number of contestants to a semi-final scheduled for 16 November 2012.

5 acts will finally then battle it out in the grand final on 7 December 2012.

Last year’s disqualified winner Alyona Lanskaya is trying her luck again this year, as well as Alexandra and Kostantin from Eurovision 2004. Also returning is Elgiazar Farashyan who participated in Oslo in the band 3+2. Other names include Aura, Sasha Nemo, Ivan Buslaev, Nina Bogdanova, Nutek, Yuzari, NRM led by Pete Pavlov, The Champions, Dmitry Smolski, Darius Eugene Slavich and Ian Zhenchak. A few former participants from the Belarusian national rounds of the Junior Eurovision have now also taking part in the grown-up version.
