40 countries will be taking part in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Vienna on 19, 21 and 23 May. The next country to be introduced is Latvia. Singing for Latvia this year is Aminata.

Aminata is a Latvian singer, songwriter and flautist; she was born in Riga in 1993 and has been writing songs, singing and competing in song competitions since she was 15.
As a teenager, Aminata took part in numerous Latvian musical television shows, including Krodziņā pie Paula when she was 15, Muzikālā banka when she was 17 and also Koru kari 3 as part of a choir group. She also won the TV talent show Jaunā talantu fabrika (New Talent Factory) in 2013.
Aminata first competed in the Latvian national selection process for Eurovision in 2014, where she reached the final with her song I can breathe, finishing in 5th place.
Although she was born and raised in Latvia, Aminata’s mother is of Russian descent, and her father is from Burkina Faso, so she uses her many influences to write and perform original and unique music.
