Spain: Eurovision past participants and OGAE Spain support Edurne

The Spanish representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 has received a good deal of support and advice from the fans through the social networks. And this week she was given a very special gift that the effort of OGAE Spain has made possible: a series of touching support messages from past Spanish Eurovision entrants compiled in a video.

Edurne is very, very busy. Not only is she promoting her Eurovision bid Amanecer. She is also involved in the Spanish version of Disney’s last project Cinderella. And she counts a good deal of work already accomplished for Amanecer. And more that is yet to come… In these circumstances she can use all the support she can gather.

She has been and she is being encouraged by the fans in many ways. And a few days ago the Spanish Eurovision fans organization OGAE Spain went one step further in the support to the country’s Eurovision entrant: the editor for OGAE Spain Juan Calandria has brought 13 past Spanish entrants together for a series of video messages to back Edurne in her Eurovision experience. Lucía Pérez (2011), Javi Soleil (d’NASH, 2007), Esperanza (Son de Sol, 2005), David Civera (2001), Anabel Conde (1995), Alejandro Abad (1994), Eva Santamaría (1993), Serafín Zubiri (1992 and 2000), Carmelo Martínez (La Década, 1988), Patricia Fernández (Trigo Limpio, 1980), Betty Missiego (1979), Micky (1977) and Karina (1971). They have all gone through the Eurovision experience. They all know what it is like to carry the responsibility on their shoulders when they feature live for 3 minutes on a stage before an international audience. They are probably the ones that can understand best what she may be going through, and the ones that can advise her best. And with the work of OGAE Spain, Edurne can now have the best hints that she could dream of.

Juan Calandria, the mind behind this initiative, stated that he was very satisfied with the result. Unfortunately we could not gather all the artists that have represented Spain because many are busy with their own promotion and projects, but many others have joined to support Edurne with Amanecer.

Edurne has been so pleased by this present that she has posted the video in her official Facebook page with a thank you note for OGAE Spain and the artists who contributed to the project.

Many are the pieces of advice and tips that Edurne has received. It could be summarized in enjoy the experience and have fun.

From the positivity of the messages it transpires, too, that Amanecer and Edurne have been able to revive the illusion and the hopes of the Spanish public for the Eurovision Song Contest. Step onto the stage and fill it with magic, says Alejandro Abad. Don’t mind the surveys and the rumors; you are the best survey, states Javi Soleil. Bring a beautiful Dawn (Amanecer) to Spain, wishes Karina. No one can tell what will happen in the end, but whatever it will be, as Lucía Pérez pronounces, ¡que nos quiten lo bailao! (no one will steal our joy…)

Edurne will represent Spain with the song Amanecer in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May.
