After Friday's and Saturday's semi finals, the 46th edition of the Festival i këngës will take place. The winner will be the 5th Albanian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest next May in Belgrade.

The show

The show will be broadcast at 20:30 CET (but very likely to be a few minutes late) live from the Palace of Congress in Tirana, hosted by Elsa Lila & Pirro Cako.

15 entries will be presented and all the competing songs will be performed in two different versions: the first one, by the contestant and the second one, by popular Albanian singers under the form of medleys. Moreover, each version will have a different orchestration. One of the medleys will be performed by Anjeza Shahini, the Albanian representative in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest. As always, the participants in the 46th Festivali will sing live.

Albania had a strong debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 finishing 7th. The following years, the country was less succesful and came 16th in 2005 and did not make it to the final in 2006 and 2007.
