Austria: The story so far

Austria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 when Bob Martin was selected to represent his country with his chosen entry Wohin, kleines pony?. In the host city of Frankfurt, Austria received a total of 3 points at the contest finishing in 10th place.

Austria has won the competition twice since their debut at the competition; in 1966 with Udo Jürgens and his entry Merci, chérie and more recently in 2014 with Conchita Wurst and her entry Rise like a phoenix.

Following Conchita’s Eurovision victory in the host city of Copenhagen, Austria will host the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in the city of Vienna.
