TVP have confirmed their intention to participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Belgrade in May 2008. Whether the country will go for internal selection, national final with many artists or national selection with many songs by one artist will be clarified towards the end of the month.

Aneta Wrona, spokesperson for the Polish broadcaster, announced that the rules for next year's Polish preselection will be announced in late November. Three possible formats have been suggested by the broadcaster's Entertainment department : the first is the same as in previous years offering an opportunity to any interested artist to participate, the second involves internal selection of both song and artist and the third one could be a national final with a set artist and a choice between various songs. The decision will be reached in collaboration with the advertising and the marketing and promotion departments of the station.

Poland has participated 12 times in the Eurovision Song Conest since they first joined in 1994. They achieved their best placing in their debut year when Edyta Gorniak came second, followed by Ich Troje's seventh place in 2003. Since the introduction of the semi final systemin 2004, and with the exception of that same year where they were in the final thanks to Ich Troje's placing, they haven'tmanaged toqualifyto the final .

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
