Greece: National final in March; acts to be revealed in February

Greece has yet again opted for a national final in order to select its Eurovision entry and representative. The 2015 Greek Eurovision national final is scheduled to be held in the majestic Greek capital city of Athens in the coming month.

Greek national broadcaster NERIT will reveal the names of the competing acts in the 2015 Greek Eurovision national final in February. ESCToday has learned that 4-5 artists will compete for the golden ticket to Vienna, next month when Greece will select its Eurovision entry for Wien! The national final is scheduled to be held in Athens either on the 03 or 04 March. The venue is yet to be determined and will be announced in due course. NERIT will reveal more details regarding its 2015 Eurovision national final, format and competing candidates in February.

In 2014 Greece opted for a national final in order to select its Eurovision entry and representative. Freaky Fortune feat. RiskyKidd won the golden to Copenhagen with their Rise Up, achieving a 20th place in the grand final.

Greece has enjoyed massive success in the Eurovision Song Contest in the last decade accomplishing excellent results, achieving a total of 10 TOP 10 results since 2001, including a victory in 2005. Greece has competed in the Eurovision  final every year since the semifinals system was introduced in 2004.

Greece debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 and has won the event in 2005 with Helena Paparizou‘s My number one, thus bringing the contest for the very first time on Greek soil in 2006.

The 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23 May at the Wiener Statdthalle in Vienna, Austria.
