Watch now: Serbia selects their first national final act

RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster will select their first national final candidate via a special televised show during the show Nedeljno popodne this afternoon. The show will take place at 17:00 CET.

The show

Earlier this year, Serbian artists interested in taking part in the 2015 Serbia national final were asked to submit a one minute demo of themselves performing a Serbian pop/rock song to the national broadcaster, RTS. Potential candidates were then asked to attend an audition at one of the 6 different Serbian audition cities – Niš, Zaječar, Kragujevac, Užice, Novi Sad and Belgrade. A judging panel consisting of 4 members – Vladimir Graić, the man behind the winning 2007 Serbian entry Molitva, Leontina Vukomanović, Aleksandar Kobac and Dragan Ilić – then went on a select a total of 10 acts to partake in today’s show where they will perform one song alongside a live band. The judging panel will then decide which artist should go on to take part in the 2015 Serbian national final who will the go on the compete against 2 other artists selected by RTS.

The story so far

Serbia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 when Marija Šerifović was selected to represent her country in the host city of Helsinki, Finland. With her entry Molitva, Marija received a total of 268 points winning the competition.

Serbia last participated at the contest in 2013 when Moje 3 were selected to represent Serbia with their entry Ljubav je svuda. Moje 3 finished in 11th place in the semi-final, failing to qualify to the grand final.

RTS confirmed Serbia’s return to the competition earlier this year after one-year’s absence.
