Trijntje Oosterhuis was chosen internally by a special Eurovision-commission of Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS. She is a popular artist in The Netherlands, and is no stranger to the world of Eurovision, as she is a very good friend of Anouk (ESC 2013) and sister-in-law of Edsilia Rombley (ESC 1998 and 2007), who is married to Trijntjes brother, composer Tjeerd Oosterhuis.

Trijntje Oosterhuis (born Judith Katrijntje Oosterhuis, Amsterdam 1973), daughter of Dutch theologian Huub Oosterhuis, is a successful artist in her home country. Trijntjes musical styles include R&B, soul, jazz and pop-music. In 2012, she released the album Wrecks We Adore, featuring songs written by Anouk. This album revealed a rougher side of Trijntje Oosterhuis, the album hit number one in the Dutch Album Top 100, and earned Trijntje a Dutch Edison Award in 2013 in the category “best female vocalist”. Besides singer, Trijntje is also one of the jury-members and coaches of the popular TV-show The Voice Of Holland. She will perform her Eurovision-entry for the first time live in this show on Friday 12 December, which can be followed from 20.30 PM on RTL 4.
