Edsilia Rombley, the 1998 and 2007 Dutch representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, is about to release her new album.

The title of the new album is The Piano Ballads: Volume I, and will feature songs in both Dutch and English. Some songs are new, but the album will mostly feature covers of some of Edsilia’s favourite songs. The songs are arranged in a classy style and will focus, as the album title says, on piano ballads. Edsilia has worked together with several artists for this album, including Dutch concert pianist, composer and vocalist Michiel Borstlap, and her husband, producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis, brother of the  Dutch 2015 Eurovision participant Trijntje Oosterhuis.

Edsilia Francisca Rombley (Amsterdam, 1978), of Dutch Caribbean descent, is a jazz, pop, R&B and soul singer. She started singing from an early age, but had her breakthrough in 1995 with the R&B-group Dignity. In 1996 she won the popular Dutch TV-show The Soundmixshow, with a cover of Oleta Adams’ song I Just Had To Hear Your Voice.

In 1997, she won the European Soundmixshow with the same song. In 1998, Edsilia Rombley represented The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham, United Kingdom. With her song Hemel & Aarde she eventually reached the 4th place.

In 2007, Edsilia represented The Netherlands for a second time, at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, Finland, but failed to reach the final, reaching a 21st place in the semi final with the song On Top Of The World. Despite of this, her 2007 Eurovision single became a hit in The Netherlands. Edislia is married to music producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis, the couple have two daughters, Imaani Tanicia (named after the 1998 British representative at Eurovision, Imaani Saleem) and Aisa-Lynn Rosa.

Edsilia is also the sister-in-law of the 2015 Dutch Eurovision representative, Trijntje Oosterhuis. Together with Trijntje, Glennis Grace (Eurovision 2005), Berget Lewis (Dutch national final for the ESC 2003) and saxophonist Candy Dulfer, Edsilia is part of the group Ladies Of Soul.
