Piero Esteriore, one time entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest, is holding “casting calls” for a new all-girl backing band. The band will accompany Piero on tour in 2007/2008.

Although he came in third place on MusicStars, Piero Esteriore rode the popularity of Switzerland's first Idol-style casting show all the way to the 2004 Contest in Istanbul. After Istanbul, Piero continued recording in Switzerland – releasing an album, 4 Singles, and 5 Videoclips over the last 3 years.

Last weekend Piero – a casting-show professional according to his website – held an open "casting call" for female musicians to join his new all-girl band. "I'd like to give young female musicians a chance," Piero said. Fifteen girls took part, but Piero said he's extended the the application deadline for the band until this Saturday because he's still receiving responses.

Interested young women should send a resume and supporting documents, with a photograph, to Piero's label ([email protected]).

The position description on the Scala Music website reads (in German):
"Looking for Girl-Band!!
