The Norwegian national final, the Melodi Grand Prix 2003, will be held February 16 in the Oslo Spektrum hall, the same location as the Eurovision Song Contest 1996.

The last time Norway entered the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2001, when Haldor Laegreid performed 'On my own'. Unfortunately for Norway, it ended up at the 22nd place with 3 points and a passive status for 2002.
