'Finland to participate in 2003 contest'

Strong rumours on the internet say that Finland might enter the Eurovision Song Contest this year due to other uninterested countries.

A 20th place for Finland at the last Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn means that in 2003, the country has a passive status and can not send a participant. Eurovision Spain wrote today that FYR Macedonia refused the ticket for the contest and thus Finland might get a chance to send in a song.

According to the same website, the EBU is concerned about the silence from Bosnia-Herzegovina: there hasn't been a reply on the invitation to participate yet. Although this story is still unconfirmed, it appears logically that Finland is prepared and stand-by.

NOTE: FYR Macedonia is NOT on the list for the 2003 contest. Out of this message it can be concluded that FYR Macedonia was asked to participate after another country which IS on the list refused. We know this is a rather strange situation, but we don't want to keep this interesting item away from you! We will notify you when there is more about it.
