Caroline Barnes, Russ Spencer, David Ducasse, and Natalie Powers – better known as Scooch have been on a whirlwind promotion campaign after winning the 2007 United Kingdom ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest. They have now been signed by leading record label, Warner Bros and the commercial release of their song, Flying the flag (for you), will take place on Monday 7th May.

The single release will feature a Karaoke version of Flying the flag (for you) along with remixes included. Scooch have also been busy recording a new video for the song, and it will be released on Monday 23rd April. The band are now concentrating hard on preparations for Helsinki, working with leading choreographer Paul Domaine to put the finishing touches on their Eurovision Song Contest presentation. They will perform live at Birmingham's Nightingale Club on Friday 4th May and Saturday 5th May at G-A-Y at London's Astoria before flying out to Finland the following day.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros Records today told esctoday.com: "It's great that we've got Scooch, it's an exciting project and we have high hopes for the single. It would be great for Warners to have a Eurovision winner on the books".

Scooch member David says “This whole experience is amazing. Winning the British vote was fantastic and now we are releasing the single throughout Europe and preparing to go to Finland so we are just having a great, and very busy, time. ‘Flying The Flag’ definitely ticks all the boxes as far as a Eurovision song is concerned – it has a catchy tune, memorable lyrics, there is something for adults and children and the performance has a brilliant dance routine. We will definitely be flying the flag high for Britain in Finland”.
