The Eurovision Song Contest has attracted attention at the highest levels of the Georgian and Polish governments. Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, referred to Sopho and her progress at a joint briefing with Polish President Lech Kaczynski.

In a joint briefing, held at the Georgian Parliament between the two Presidents, Mr Saakashvili said that "Sopho Khalvashi is very popular in Poland". "According to various public polls, conducted through the Polish online publications, Khalvashi maintained a leading rating and she was named as a possible winners in the forthcoming Eurovision contest. This is already a success," President Saakashvili concluded.

This is Georgia's first attempt at the contest and GBP's whole approach is a very professional one. Sopho will be competing in this year's semi final on May 10, with Visionary dream.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
