As previously reported on SVT has been looking for a new commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest and today it was announced that Kristian Luuk, the host of this years Melodifestival got the job. He will be replacing Pekka Heino who has been the Swedish commentator six times in total whereas the last four has been in a row.

Kristian will be commentating both the semi-final and the final and he will be working together with Josef Sterzenbach, the editor of Melodifestivalen 2007. The two has been working together previously, also before the Swedish final this year.

According to Swedish Head of Delegation, Christel Willers the two of them are a good combination: "Together with Josef Sterzenbach, Kristian Luuk has put a very special and fun touch on the series of programs this year. I think it is very good that they can follow the journey to the end and then close the whole ballet".

Due to Carola's5th place last year in Athens Sweden is automatically qualified for the final in Helsinki on 12th May.
