Israel: Teapacks with Push the button

The Israeli entry to the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest will be determined tonight during the national final, which will be broadcasted from Kibbutz Dorot. The show will also be broadcasted live on IBA's official Eurovision website, Eurovil.

The band Teapacks was selected in January by the IBA to be ones to represent Israel at the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest. The band's leader and soloist, Kobi Oz, was only granted a few weeks to compose 4 optional songs for the contest. Last Sunday Teapacks shot the video clips of these 4 songs. They will be presented to the public during the show tonight, which will be held in Kibbutz Dorot's auditorium, where Teapacks had their first show, 19 years ago. The 4 songs in tonight's show are:
1. Push the button (Kaftor adom)
2. Salam salami
3. 12 Points (Shteim esre nekudot)
4. Voulez vous? (Ma at rotza?)

The voting in this year's national final already started 5 days ago, when the songswere presentedon IBA's radio and uploadedto IBA's Eurovision website, Eurovil. The show will be presented tonight by Natali Atiya and Noa Barak. Performances by fellow artists from the same southern part of Israel, where Teapacks hail from, are expected.

The final entry will be determined by a mixed voting of the IBA's Eurovision jury and the voting which has already begun by SMS and on Eurovil.

UPDATE: Guy Mardel, who represented France in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest with the song N'avoue jamais, will bea special guest in tonight's show. The singer, who reached the 3rd position in 1965, immigrated to Israel 3 years ago.

You will be able to watch the show tonight, live on http://eurovil.iba.org.il, as from 21:30 local time (+2 GMT). The show will also be available for watching on Eurovil, later on by demand.
