André Vermeulen, the Belgian commentator on the Eurovision Song Contest, was accused false of negative comments on the Israeli entry.

According to the Israeli press, André Vermeulen suggested to boycot the Israeli song. Broadcaster VRT was amazed by this and copied the comments from Vermeulen for the Israeli ambassy in Belgium.

The Israeli ambassy concluded that the statements from Vermeulen where not the statements quoted in the Israeli press and forwarded the note to Israel.
