Euopean media are critical on the Eurovision Song Contest. Especially in Sweden the media is unpleasantly surprised.

Bert Karlsson attacked Svante Stockselius verbally about the Swedish selection procedure. He said that “the contest dies in this way”. Other Swedish media wrote that “Sweden should not participate anymore in the contest” and that “they should follow the Italian example of organising their own song contest”.

A Swedish priest announced to sue the Swedish commentator Christer Björkman because he said that “Israel does not deserve points due to the political situation”.

The Belgian Eurovision website eurosong.be wrote that the EBU and the broadcasting company VRT should look critically on the selection and the voting procedure during the contest.

Fans came up with ideas to change the system completely: stop the televoting, bring back the professional jury and bring the contest back to 15 songs are many heard ideas.
