Soraya Arnelas, the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest representative for Spain will present her latest record during the opening ceremony of a department store’s Christmas season.

The Spanish singer Soraya Arnelas has been chosen by the Spanish department store chain El Corte Inglés as the person who will light the Christmas decoration in their shop in Pamplona, Spain. The ceremony is becoming a tradition for the store and it marks the kickoff of its Christmas celebrations. This year it will be held on 22 November at 19.00 CET.

Soraya will perform during the lightning party and she will also take the opportunity to present her new record, Universe in me. This will be the sixth album in her career. Ever since she began singing, she has been rewarded with two platinum and one gold record. The track Plastic, presented recently, is included in Universe in me.

Soraya Arnelas rose to fame as a singer in 2005 as the runner-up of the fourth edition of the Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo. She has released songs in Spanish and in English. In 2009 she was selected as the Spanish representative for the Eurovision Song Contest with La noche es para mi. Despite the result in the competition, her work in music has never stopped.

Universe in me is due to go on sale on 11 November.
