OGAE Maltarevealed some interesting details:

Singers perform on stage in the main hall of St Dorothy's school. The performances are held behind closed doors. Anton Miceli from Maltasong Board is making sure that none of the media enters areas which are restricted and out of bounds for the media. Martin Gauci from Maltasong Board ushers the singers from the foyer to the backstage of the hall, while Mike Spiteri took the role of the stage manager. He accompanies the singers on stage and stays with them during the sound check, thus ensuring that all performers are happy with the sound – which is a crucial point at this stage – when the songs are mainly judged upon the live performances.

OGAE Malta also noticed that the judges are applauding the performers at the end of their performances. We can also reveal that Isabelle has a power-ballad. Lyndsay Pace's 'The Truth in Me' is written by herself to the music by Paul Abela. Gianella Mazzola's song is written by Gerard James Borg and Philip Vella, so is Anabelle Debono's song. OGAE Malta also noticed that singers took this event with a professional attiude, so much so that many singers (especially female artists) seem to be wearing stylish outfits, professional makeup and upstyles.

As previously announced, a total of 228 entries were submitted for the Maltasong for Europe Festival 2007, which were be cut down to 50 by a panel of judges. The second phase is currently being held. For the second phase, the songs are performed live before a panel of foreign judges. 14 songs will be chosen for the semi final on 1st February. 6 out of them will qualify for the final round on 3rd February.
