The Estonian minister of finance Siim Kallas stated that “the ESC will stay in Estonia”. This week it became more and more obvious that ETV, the Estonian national broadcaster, won”t be able to organise the contest. The Estonian News Agency wrote that TV3 is ready to take over the contest from ETV.

TV3 is the most viewed television channel in Estonia with almost 33% of the viewers. It is active in Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland and Denmark and belongs to one of the biggest media concerns in eastern Europe. The Estonian News Agency stated that TV3 is ready to take over the Eurovision Song Contest from national broadcaster ETV (Eesti televisioon) to keep the contest in Estonia.

It could be difficult because TV3 is not a member of the European Broadcasting Union. As you can read in the article down here, it”s possible that ERT can not finance the Eurovision Song Contest. Malta (PBS) and The Netherlands (NOS) offered to organise the Eurovision Song Contest next year instead of Estonia.
