Armenia is preparing for some true Eurovision Song Contest fever! “Our jurors has selected a song of Armen Martirosyan, a very famous Armenian composer, jazzman and musician. The selection of the song was mainly based on ethnic elements which give a special comprehension to the mixture of modern and national music”, Diana Mnatsakanyan of Armenian national television said.

Regarding the internal selection of both the singer as well as the song, Diana explaines: “I can only state that we have refused an idea to make a national final, relying on the opinion of competent jurors because this is the very first time and we should have prepared much better for a public selection”.

The arrangements of the Armenian entry for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest have been made by Ara Torosyan, who is considered to be a top name in the Armenian music industry. The lyrics are not known yet, as several song writers are working on them. The working title of the song is Stay with me and will be performed by national star Andre.
