In Serbia & Montenegro, preparations for Evropesma 2006 started. The advertisement for those interested to participate was published in Serbian and Montenegrin newspapers last week.

The 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry for Serbia & Montenegro will be chosen during Evropesma 2006, which takes place at the Sava Centre in Belgrade on 11th March. 20 songs will compete in the national selection. Serbian songs will be selected through Beovizija, while Montenegro qualifies participants for Evropesma 2006 through Montevizija.

Montevizija 2006 takes place on 24th February, 20 participants will compete. 10 of them will proceed to the big Evropesma 2006 final on 11th March.

The Beovizija 2006 festival will take place at the Sava Centre on 10th March. Twenty performers will take part in it. The top ten songs will go forward to the final of the Evropesma 2006, one day later.

At the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Serbia & Montenegro was represented by the band No Name, which finished 7th. In that way, Serbia & Monetenegro qualified directly for the final of the 2006 contest in Athens. No Name came from Montenegro.
