Polish final on 28th January

In Piosenka dla Europy (Song for Europe), Poland will search for its 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. The national final takes place on 28th January and will contain 15 songs. Songs can be submitted until 10th December.

A 50/50 split between SMS/televotes and the opinions of a professional jury will decide the winner. In case of a draw, the song that picks up the highest number of SMS and telephone votes will win.

Songs are being accepted from both Polish record companies and individual songwriters and composers, there is no language restriction. The deadline to submit songs is 10th December. An internal committee of TVP will select the finalists, while five backup songs will be chosen.

After the successes of Ruslana and Helena Paparizou, promotion became a more inportant part of a successful Eurovision Song Conest entry, TVP also realised. TVP will cover the costs of the winners� travel and accommodation and basic expenses in Athens, where the 2006 contest will take place. All promotional costs leading up to the event will be down to the performer, management and record label behind the winner.
