Helena Paparizou will be awarded a gold record in Sweden, where more than 30.000 copies of this year's Eurovision Song Contest winning song My number one have been sold.

For the first time since the Danish Olsen Brothers won the Eurovision Song Contest with Fly on the wings of love in Stockholm in 2000, a Eurovision Song Contest winner sold more than 30.000 copies of her winning entry in Sweden. As a result, Helena Paparizou's My number one reached the gold status.

Helena Paparizou was born and raised up in Sweden but represented Greece, her parents' country of origin, at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. Both in Sweden and Greece the singer enjoys popularity. In Greece, Helena was already awarded a platinum record for her album Proteraiotita – Euro edition and a gold record for My number one last month.

In the Swedish single charts Helena Paparizou is slowly losing ground. In its 11th week in Hitlistan, the single of My number one has dropped from the 5th to the 6th spot. Helena has earlier been leading the charts for 4 weeks.
