Bulgaria selects a song for Elitsa and Stoyan tonight, among the 3 candidate ones, during a special Eurovision Show on BNT, the Bulgarian Public Broadcaster.
Eitsa and Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhi were selected internally to represent Bulgaria to the 58th Eurovision Song Contest. You can learn more about this internal selection here.
The Bulgarian national final kicks off at 19:45 CET (20.45 local time) on BNT and the show will be hosted by Dragomir Draganov.
The song that Elitsa and Stoyan will perform in Malmö will be decided upon the combined result (50/50) of a 5-member professional jury and the public vote.
Some special guests, other countries’ representatives to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, will perform during the interval act of the show: The Swiss group Heilsarmee will be among the guests in the studio, whereas the representatives of Greece Koza Mostra and Agathonas Iakovidis will be greeting the show through a video.

The show will be broadcasted on BNT 1 and BNT World. There will also be a webstream on the official website of the Bulgarian Public Broadcaster as well as on the webtv of the official website of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Five songs were submitted to BNT by Elitsa and Stoyan and among those 3 were selected to compete in the national final of Bulgaria.

Samo shampioni, Kismet and Dzupai libe boso were presented to the public earlier in February and since then they have been aired in the Bulgarian media in order to become familiar to the potential voters.

This is going to be the second participation of Elitsa and Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhi to Europe’s favourite TV show, since they took part also in its 2007 edition, in Helsinki, where their song placed 5th. That was Bulgaria’s best place in the contest.
Bulgaria debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and is yet to win the event. This year is taking part at the first part of the 2nd semi-final, on May 16th.
