Hera Björk who represented Iceland in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest is one of the six finalists in the Viña del Mar International Song Contest 2013, the oldest and biggest music festival in Latin America.

The Viña del Mar International Song Contest 2013 also known as El festival de los festivals in South America is an annual music festival held in Chile, this year it takes place  from February 24 to March 1. Hera Björk is one of the six finalists in the pop category with Because you can by  Christina Schilling, Camilla Gottschalck, Jonas Gladnikoff, herself and Örlygur Smári. The later also co-wrote her Eurovision entry Je ne sais quoi. Among the guest stars this year are Elton John, Jonas Brothers, Daddy Yankee, Miguel Bose and Gloria Trevi.

“I’m very excited about the Viña 2013. It’s such a large and prestigious event, I mean it’s been an important part of the Latin American music scene for so long. And it’s an amazing opportunity for me. We’ve been rehearsing for a few weeks and by now everything is ready, but it’s still a bit unrealistic that I’m a part of this year’s Viña del Mar contest. Maybe it has something to do with trying to find a swimsuit in the middle of winter here in Iceland,” said Hera after the final rehearsal before the journey to Chile.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
