Constantinos Christoforou made his first appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996, finishing 9th with the ballad Mono gia mas. More recently, in 2002, Constantinos was the lead singer of the boy band ONE, which finished 6th in Tallinn with the song Gimme. Esctoday.com interviewed the Cypriot representative who will be making his third appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Constantinos, at the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest you sang the ballad Mono gia mas and finished 9th. In 2002 you performed Gimme with the group ONE and finished 6th. Which year is bringing you back
the best memories?
Both entries are bringing me back memories. In 1996 I was very very young and innocent. It was like a dream for me. I haven't got the sense of how important it was then for me. In 2002 with Gimme it was much more adventureous because the Eurovision Song Contest had started to get bigger and we did a big tour in 10 countries. It was much more stressful then but the whole experience was great.
What happened to the group ONE after the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest?
ONE don't exist anymore. I left the group a little while after the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002. I decided that it was the time to start my solo carreer. I was solo when I began in Cyprus in 1994 , I got into the group ONE in 1999 and I
went solo again in 2003.
