The Icelandic entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, to be sung by Selma, has been chosen and is complete. Selma Björnsdóttir will represent Iceland with the song If I had your love in the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal in Kiev on May 19th.

The song If I had your love was composed by Þorvaldur Bjarni Þorvaldsson and Vignir Snær Vigfússon. Þorvaldur and Selma joined forces back in 1999 with the song All out of luck which got Iceland their best Eurovision posistion to date (second place)

“I'm ecstatic with the outcome of the song” said Selma, who just finished recording the backing vocals for her entry. “I'm very excited about all of this. We've been very busy lately. A competition such as this one requires careful planning and hard work, but there are many good times ahead, I'm sure.”

Selma describes the song as a powerful pop song and has told people to expect “Fireworks on stage. We're gonna make sure we present a solid stage act” says Selma, who is an educated choreographer herself.

The video shoot for the song will start this Saturday and go through onto Monday. The making of the video will be aired on 16th March during the show Óp. The video and song will be premiered on 19th March in Gísli Marteinn's Live Saturnight Night show.

Selma will represent Iceland in the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev.
