RTCG to demand disqualification Serbian songs?

The tension in Serbia & Montenegro is escalating. As esctoday.com reported last Monday, Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG acused Serbian broadcaster RTS of aggressive promotion of the songs from Beovizija 2005 that proceeded to the national final. RTS however denies the accusations. RTCG will contact the European Broadcasting Union and threatens to demand disqualification of all Serbian songs.

Considering the possibility of media favouritism of songs from Beovizija, the first semifinal of the national selection in Serbia & Montenegro, representatives of RTS and RTCG had agreed on a deal restricting the airplay of Beovizija songs. According to Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG, Serbian broadcaster RTS broke the agreement and obstructed a fair televoting procedure during the final since the Montenegrin semifinal still has to take place.

RTS however denies the accusations which upset the Montenegrin broadcaster. RTCG announced to contact the European Broadcasting Union about this situation and considers demanding UJRT (the association including RTS and RTCG, which is formal member in the EBU) for disqualification of all song from Beovizija 2005, the Serbian semifinal.
