Tonight is the night when the decison about who will represent Slovenia in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest will be made. After the Slovenians could hear all 14 songs in a special radio show last Monday, the expectations of the audience are very high this year.

At 20:00 CET the lights go on in the 1st studio of Radio-Telvizija Slovenija (RTVSLO).The final of EMA 2005 will be hosted by Saa Einsidler and Saa Gerdej, a tv-duo which already hosted a few shows of the entertaining program of RTV SLO, 10 years ago.The comeback of the “Saa´s” has recently raised a lot of positive public attention.

This year only televoting will be used in order to select the Slovenian representative for Kiev. The viewers will vote in two rounds and choose between 14, more or less well known, performers:

1. Johnny Bravo – Večni otrok (Eternal child)
2. Express – Skozi mesto (Through the town)
3. Victory – Daleč od oči (Far from the eyes)
4. Saa Lendero – Metulj (Butterfly)
5. Omar Naber- Stop
6. Jadranka Juras – Anima
7. Anika Horvat – Kje si? (Where are you?)
8. Sergeja – Nedotoaknjena (Untouched)
9. Regina – Proti vetru (Against the wind)
10. Nude – Tako lepo si zlomila mi srce (You´ve broken my heart so nice)
11. Billy´s Private Parking – Ljubljana
12. Alja – Exxtra
13. Rebeka Dremelj – Pojdi z menoj (Come with me)
14. Nua Derenda – Noe, Noe (Noah,Noah)

Even though many people already see Nua Derenda, Saa Lendero, Omar Naber or Rebeka Dremelj as the favourite, experiences from the past have learned that the result of EMA 2005 can turn out in a very unexpected way.

In case there will be problems with the televoting procedure, a special backup jury will make the decision. Last year's Eurovision Song Contest winner, Ruslana and eljko Joksimović will perform as guest stars in in the show. EMA 2005 will be broadcast live over the internet as of 20:00 CET tonight.

The winner of EMA 2005 will represent Slovenia in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev.
