Magyar Televízió (the Hungarian broadcaster) has confirmed to our colleagues of Doteurovision that they will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev. Hungary will make it's come-back after 7 years.
Márta Rapai of MTV told doteurovision in an e-mail today “Now I can confirm Hungarian Television will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005”.
As for how the song will be selected, Rapai added, “We have just learned that in principle we are going to hold a public national final in 2005, there are still negotiations about it”.
In 1998 Hungary participated for the last time in the Eurovision Song Contest. Hungary has participated 4 times in total in the contest and their best position was the 4th place in 1994 for Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet by Friderika Bayer.
