One of the most unexpected participants at Melodifestivalen 2005 is Katrina Leskanich, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with the song Love shine a light. Katrina is collaborating with the Swedish band Playboys, which has been renamed 'The New Waves'.

Katrina was present at todays Melodifestivalen 2005 press conference, accompanied by one of the members of The New Waves. Katrina took some time to greet the esctoday.com visitors and to comment her Melodifestivalen participation.

Its a fantastic and a fun opportunity to have the chance to participate once again at the Eurovision Song Contest, tells Katrina Leskanich to esctoday.com. I really like Melodifestivalen and I have heard a lot about it and about how fantastic it is. To me, Stockholm is the leading capital of Eurovision!

Katrina & The New Waves will perform As if tomorrow will never come, a song written by Thomas G:son, during the fourth heat of Melodifestivalen, to be held in Växjö on 5th March 2005.
